real.

Just because having a baby to look after, care for, and love - is the very best thing, doesn't mean it doesn't come with it's territory. You don't always have all the "you time" you wish you'd have. Getting ready to go out doesn't look the same as it used to, especially since there's an extra person to put together, in addition to yourself, oh yeah p.s. with only half the time you used to have just for you, because in baby world you're always on a tight schedule.

You can't really do what you want, when you want, because if a little baby needs you that second, whatever you wanted to do can wait.

Somehow, someway, Mommy had some me time today and went and had my hair did. It was long overdo, but it was wonderful. What made it even more great was my stylist was also a mom and we ended up talking the whole time about how having a baby changes you forever, highlighting the physical differences along with all the sacrifices. We were both really raw but even more real.

When baby girl was a newborn I never thought I'd want to leave her, even for a minute and I didn't understand seasoned moms who talked about their "me time" and why they desired it so. Don't get me wrong, I think I look pretty cute covered in baby spit-up, drool, poop, and whatever else my sweet girl blesses me with, but having some me time today was a God-send.  I love being my daughter's mother, but being real means admitting moms sometimes need their "me time," her small second - whatever it may look like, to be pampered - pun intended.

I'm right there with you my dear. At first, I didn't really understand "me time." But, now, I realize just how important a few moments to get pampered can be. I can't stand to be away for long periods of time, but Mama needs love too...or should I say, mama's hair desperately needs love.

The more I look at it, the more I love it.

Well, you have to remember that you need to look good for your husband too, 24/7, even with a little baby. So you do need "me time". Can't forget about the hubby!
