Baby girl experienced something
new this week - a yummy
green &
yellow, soft & smushy
avocado. Did she like it? I'm pretty sure the answer's "yes," but her jury took some
process time before they established that the little avocado was pretty cool after all.
Watching her try it made me think of a dear group of girls who all just started college. One of them, whom I
deeply admire and care for, (oh how I wish I had her maturity when I was a college-bound freshman!) called to share her experience thus far. And with any new adventure, some adjustment time is required. As baby girl tried the avocado, it wasn't initially clear if she enjoyed the newness of the fun fruit, but she
gave it a chance. Once her face was covered in
green, she figured out that it was better than her
first bite of - "what the heck is this" - "never had this before" - and "not sure if I like it," conveyed.
Starting college and introducing baby solids both encourage
growth. So, to anyone experiencing
something new for the sake of growth or betterment, just
give it a shot and allow yourself some time to become acclimated. It might seem foreign initially, but maybe with some perseverance and patience, it might turn out to be
mm, mmm, good & much
better than your
first bite suggested.
