The past couple of days have been a little rough with a growing baby girl who is trying out a new sleep/nap schedule while giving all awake hours a run for their money, along with tasting lots of new foods that are hoping to make it on the weekly baby menu, and not to mention, experiencing tons of growing pains {what's an adjustment period without a tooth or two showing up and crashing the party with their as always, grand entrance}.
Well, with baby girl needing lots & lots of mama, I take advantage of small "me" moments to help rejuvenate my conquered self. Some recent remedies yielding lovely little pick-me-up sentiments include chocolate in any yummy form, brief moments of silence, big deep breaths, bear hugs from the nearest warm body, pleasantly hot tea with spiraling honey swirls, and perfectly emo playlists that make feeling down or overwhelmed feel, 'oh, so good.'
These big girl remedies may provide mama a breath of fresh air and a tranquil moment among the chaos, but none of them relieve the symptoms of a tired and worn spirit as much as the recognition that the race is being run for a purpose...and knowing that my sometimes draining efforts to help sweet baby girl grow to become a bright-eyed big girl is, ironically, the best big girl remedy of all.
