she remains.

A statue of the Virgin Mary sits amid rubble in the Breezy Point neighborhood of Queens, N.Y., Tuesday. Fire destroyed at least 80 homes there as Sandy hit the beachfront community.  - photo and caption by WSJ

In a world lacking faith and reverence for God, she remains.

In a world where "woman" is constantly misconstrued, she remains.

In a world that disregards the power of God after seeing a picture like this,
she remains.

In a world demanding to know how a loving God could let this destruction happen, she remains.

In a world full of pain, heartache, disaster, and suffering, she remains.

But God never said His way was easy, God never said His way was pain-free, and God never said following Him would exempt you from suffering, yet, she remains.

She's not God, nor does she ever claim to be, yet, she remains.

She's a woman who cared not for what the world would think of her, because she knew the world's allure was nothing compared to His love, and as such, she remains.

She's a mother who wanted her life to point to her Son, she's a wife who allowed her surrender to expose her spouse's faithfulness, she's a daughter who trusted her Heavenly Father's ways over her own, and with such beauty, she remains.

As a perfect example of laying it all down for Him and clinging to God for comfort in suffering,
she remains.

So inspiring Tory! :) Thank you for these words, its so easy to get caught up only with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, yet as you said, SHE remains, she is present, she intercedes for us, she is our heavenly mother! Amen!
