fail.

And the winner goes to...

 1. GO SHOPPING WITH A 3 1/2 WEEK OLD BABY

Congratulations, you've won the #1 spot on the list -
"Top 10 Things NOT To Do Alone."

Let's just say, I'm way more ambitious than I should be. Today, while Joseph was at work, I attempted to take Marabelle on her first shopping adventure with Mommy - definitely not the smartest decision I've ever made.

Here are some highlites of our failed trip...

Feeling all fancy walking into BabiesRUs with Marabelle in her carseat/stroller only to discover that I'm a goofball. Who did I think I was, Inspector Gadget with Go-Go-Gadget arms? How can I push a baby stroller and a shopping cart at the same time? Well, your guess is as good as mine! And umm, yeah - all the things on my shopping list didn't fit in her stroller basket, so let's just say I looked real cute lugging everything I needed to the cashier, all-the-while still pushing her stroller. I should have had "New Mom" tattooed on my forehead, oh wait...I did.

Changing her diaper on the shotgun seat of our car. Victoria, the seat is inclined and your daughter's diaper is filled with poop. Slip & Slide Poop Party, anyone?

Using the handicapped Macy's fitting room because that was the only one that fit both me and her stroller. Prior to today, I never noticed how small some fitting rooms could be. Fitting room architect's apparently are not stroller operating consumers. While using the handicapped room, with a sweet screaming baby who is fighting her nap, two elderly women ask the attendant if there's anyone in my room. The attendant then replied, "Yes, a lady with her baby." Let's just say the two elderly women were very upset they couldn't share the large fitting room. Then the attendant knocks and asks me if I'm okay. Umm...yes, I've never been better - thank you for asking.
Looking like a teen mom with a screaming baby. It's bad enough that everyone was staring at us as we strolled down the aisles of Ralph Lauren and turned the bend around Charter Club's corridors, but it really makes the situation 10 times better when you look 16.
Practically throwing the 5 things I wanted to buy on some random rack closest to the door, as I rushed outside so Belle could scream and no longer disturb the peace.
While rushing to the car, running into another mom with her older kids who moved out of the way for Marabelle and me. Belle's lungs were like sirens, signaling everyone in our path to step aside so we could pass. The mom expressed sadness for sweet baby girl's fuss, and I explained she was fighting her nap. She had a huge smile and said "Been there, I TOTALLY understand." I could have kissed her.
Five minutes after being in the car, sweet baby Belle sleeping peacefully. Apparently Macy's wasn't her cup of tea.

Oh, the bliss and joy of being a new mum - never a dull moment!

Like I said in earlier posts, her and I will rock it out together...and what's a rock concert without some intense screaming and yelling?

O, honey boo! What are you doing out and about?! I've totally done the changing diaper in the front seat, and back seat, more than once! Baby explosive diapers are crazy intense. Remember my story of CUTTING Eli's onesie off! And, my suggestion to you is Moby or a carrier of some sort (my favs are Baby Bjorn and Ergo. Eli is way more peaceful in a carrier, has yet to cry while in one. And that will free up your hands. Hope to see you soon love!

Oh Tori! I feel you!! I had to smile at your post because I remember being there myself 6 months ago. I remember my first trip to the grocery store alone. Let's just say that was a FAST shopping trip. <3 She's gorgeous and I hope one day to meet her. I have a Moby wrap and it's awesome. It helped me get chores done. Enjoy these moments, they grow so fast!!
